Why Use a Checklist

Most new artists miss the same things.

Setting up as a professional fine line tattoo artist involves more than buying a machine and finding clients. There is a specific sequence of steps (legal, practical, and commercial) that needs to happen in roughly the right order for your business to start on solid ground.

The artists who struggle in their first year are almost always missing one or more things from this list. The most common gaps are local authority registration (which must happen before you take any paying client), public liability insurance, and a structured approach to building a client base through social media before they open for bookings.

This checklist was built around the questions our course graduates ask most often in the months after completing. It reflects the real setup process, not a theoretical one.

Work through the six sections in order. Some items take an afternoon: some, like building your Instagram presence, take weeks. Starting them early means you are ready to take clients the moment your registration comes through.
